BASHUJIAYAN INTERMARK KL

This restaurant showcases cuisine from the Bashu region of China, and the interior design draws inspiration from the region’s traditional architecture. We carefully selected materials and colours that echo its cultural roots, translating heritage elements into a contemporary dining environment.

Inspired by the stark contrast found in traditional houses, we embraced a bold black-and-white palette, anchored by an unorthodox black façade designed to spark curiosity and conversation. In response to the client’s preference to avoid loud, stereotypical red décor, we blended subtle oriental detailing within a refined, continental setting, creating a distinctive identity that sets the restaurant apart from its competitors.

Even the traditional seafood aquarium was reimagined, thoughtfully integrated into the entrance as a stylish feature suitable for a downtown mall, balancing authenticity with modern sophistication.
